Melissa Lochhead grew up in a small, Rocky Mountain town in British Columbia, Canada. When she was little, her parents have her the first camera she owned: blue and yellow plastic, 35mm film. The light leaked thorugh, it jammed often, and it got dropped many, many times, but she loved watching moments come to life on paper and she brought it with her everywhere. Eventually (reluctantly) she upgraded to digital, but the passion for storytelling remained. She went to school for photography and quit, in favour of experience over classrooms. She has recently decided to go for her passion with both feet, and hopes that she will be able to convey that passion to you.

 

Melissa is a photographer, writer, traveler, and wanna-be cyclist, who buys wine she can’t afford, drinks too much coffee and prefers being outside in the sunshine. She values simplicity, quality time, nature and community, and believes that the best adventures are often unplanned.
